Planning a trip to Marrakech? Here are my recommendations of where to stay, what to wear, what to do and where to eat!
Where to Stay
In Marrakech you have the option to stay either at a Hotel or at a Riad. A Riad is a Moroccan style home that now is used as a Hotel. We stayed at Riad O2 and I loved it! The flat we had was beautiful and we had our own private rooftop. Their amenities are awesome! I definitely recommend getting a Hammam, a massage and book their jacuzzi to relax.
What to Wear
Marrakech actually has a dress code that not most tourists know about unless they are told or if they read about it. You are technically not allowed to show your full legs nor your shoulders. So definitely wear pretty long dresses, or skirts and match them with different tops that do not show your shoulders. You could follow or not follow the dress code, it's completely up to you. I personally did because I didn't want to feel uncomfortable and I also didn't want to draw too much attention to myself and I enjoyed it! The outfits I wore went perfect with the city and I felt comfortable during the time of my visit.
What to Do
Ride a Camel!!! haha I used to ride horses and it's super fun but there's something super cool about riding camels that you guys totally have to check out! Marrakech is full of Museums, Palais and the Souks are huge. You can read more about specific things to see in Marrakech in this blog and definitely check out Jardin Majorelle
Where to Eat
One of my favorite parts about traveling is trying different foods. I personally love couscous and Tajine but not for both lunch and dinner so I had to try a few other things. I'm not a huge fan of spices so there were a lot of things I didn't like but if you like spices then you'll love Moroccan food! The 2 main places that I ate at to escape from couscous and tajine were Chez Brahim and La Porte du Monde. They're both located inside the Souks and they were so good! I had grilled chicken with french fries and veggies at the first one and a turkey panini at the second. Btw I loved the first place so much that our last night in Marrakech we actually had dinner there again.
